From December 6th to 8th, 2024 Scientia Nova Association participated in an international meeting in Dubrovnik, Croatia as part of the project HOP – History of people. The aim of the meeting was to present the local pilot project “Three Stories about Gruž” of the host organization Muzej crvene povijesti / Red History Museum, Dubrovnik, CROATIA.

This local pilot project is a new tourist route “Three Stories about Gruž”, which is related to historical figures part of the modern history of Croatia, in particular city of Dubrovnik and the local people there. Historian and curator Ivan Lujo narrated the group of participants through ‘Three Stories from Gruž’, with an emphasis on people who lived in Gruž or who left a mark on the history of that part of the city. Tour participants learned about the life and death of Marija Radeljević, about Luj Šoletić and his importance for the development of the city, especially Gruž, and about the port workers’ strike of 1934, led by Bruno Radeljević and Nikola Mašanović.
Also, the program of the meeting included activities such as the visit of the Muzej crvene povijesti / Red History Museum from Dubrovnik and the Homeland War Museum guided by director Varina Jurica Turk etc. This historical museum testifies the birth of modern Republic of Croatia and the struggle for independence in the Homeland War in Dubrovnik.
